Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow
The 1998 / 99 Königssee World Cup
was held in an incredible snow storm under the lights for broadcast live
in Europe on Eurosport.
The race didn't start until after 9:00 PM, and due to the extremely heavy
snow, the track was shoveled every five sliders. The race eventually
finished at about 1:45 AM. Shown here is DSS customer Jim Shea of
the United States, who went on to win the 1999
World Championships in Altenberg a couple of weeks later. Amazingly
enough, the ratings for the broadcast were quite good, in spite of the
late conclusion to the race.
