Sumo Cat
My friend Kazuhiro Koshi of the Japanese team stayed with me for one
night before the 1996 World Championships
in Calgary, which I ended up winning for my first of two consecutive World
Championship wins. Koshi was very impressed by the great size of
Thomas the cat, and decided that he was in fact a Sumo Cat. His teammate
Toshinari Miyamoto was less impressed, although I'm told he is no longer
afraid of cats as long as they're not too big. This picture doesn't
show Tom's size to advantage, but it's a good picture anyway. Big
fat green-eyed beast.
